What is a Mini Excavator? A mini excavator or compact hydraulic excavator, is a tracked or wheeled vehicle comprised of a standard backfill blade and an independent boom swing. Differing from most construction equipment, the movements and functions of a mini excavator are achieved through the transfer of hydraulic fluid. In recent years many different functions for mini excavators have emerged thanks to the development of varying attachments such as tiltrotators, breakers, grapples or augers for example.
